Patrice Gheisar: “We want to help players develop”
Gheisar highlights how Scrosoppi’s commitment to player progression runs through all levels at the club.
Scrosoppi head into July leading the top-flight standings in the men’s Ontario Premier League having won eight from 12 matches so far this season.
It’s so far been a successful return to Pro-Am soccer for the team’s head coach, Patrice Gheisar, who became SFC’s Director of Football Operations in January and began overseeing programs across the club at all levels.
While much of his focus remains on propelling SFC to more silverware in the OPL, he’s also preparing for his first year involved in Scrosoppi’s annual Summer Camp, which kicks off on July 6.
For Gheisar, it’s not just a great opportunity for young players to get better at soccer, but for the club as a whole to showcase what it’s all about to Milton and the Halton regions.
“We want to help players develop, and we want to show our care for player development at Scrosoppi,” he said.
“The camp will benefit children by building confidence, creating lifelong memories, and developing their skills through repetitions.
“We have two different camps to tailor to different levels: from our multi-sport weeks, to our High Performance Camp that works with the elite soccer enthusiasts.
“The camps will accelerate individual development and raise standards, and the ability to work with different coaches and hear different voices and input.
“They will also support with leadership development – future captains are players who are comfortable in all environments – physical preparation, and creating lasting memories with combining fun and football.”
