Luis Domingos: “Beneficial for their development”

June 19, 2026

Learn more about our returning Summer Camp from Scrosoppi coach Luis Domingos.

The FIFA World Cup is coming to North America in just a few weeks’ time with the world’s leading soccer stars touching down on the continent – even right here in Ontario.

Young soccer players in Milton also have the chance to take to the field this summer, with Scrosoppi FC hosting a development camp at St. Francis Xavier that kicks off on July 13.

Led by Scrosoppi staff, participants will be taken through fun and engaging new daily activities, allowing them to express themselves, be creative, learn valuable skills, and become better soccer players.

A key part of SFC’s coaching roster is Luis Domingos, who recently took charge of Scrosoppi’s women’s team which is competing in the top flight of the Ontario Premier League. He was recently named the OPL’s Women’s Coach of the Month after an impressive start to life in Division 1.

Coach Luis led last year’s camp, and here’s what he had to say looking back on the summer.

“The high level of engagement creates a realistic and competitive environment, which is very beneficial for their development,” he said.

“We exposed the kids to scenarios they would encounter in a session when becoming an SFC player. It is important that kids are able to handle this during the camps, as it helps us identify their potential.

“I was glad to see kids improving their skills, and it’s great that a few new faces from the camp joined our grassroots teams. Hard work pays off; soccer is a highly competitive sport, and every minute on the field counts.”

We all know the summer heat can bring challenges for soccer players, but Scrosoppi coaches are well-versed in making sessions fit for whatever the weather.

“Many activities had to be adapted due to the extreme heat, with the kids spending nearly seven hours on the field each day. The fact that several kids chose to return for multiple weeks is a strong indication that they truly enjoyed the experience.”
