OPL 2026: Scrosoppi's women shine ahead of final stretch

July 6, 2026

Just a handful of matches remain for SFC in their debut Women’s OPL 1 campaign, with a top-three finish still on the cards.

Scrosoppi FC's women head into their final 2026 home games this week sitting fourth in the standings after an impressive run of form in the top flight of the Ontario Premier League.

Luis Domingos’ side responded to a winless May by racing into a 2-0 lead inside the opening 15 minutes at home to FC London on Friday, July 5, with Jahkaya Davis and Ella Cahill finding the net. But SFC were pegged back before the break and again after half-time as the visitors salvaged a 2-2 tie.

Three points and a clean sheet quickly followed, as Scrosoppi ground out a 1-0 win over Woodbridge Strikers in midweek with Sanai Sereboe the only scorer.

Scrosoppi were back among the goals seven days later as they beat North Mississauga 3-0, Destiny Omari and Yasmin Castillo scoring either side of an own goal. A narrow defeat away at FC London on the Saturday was to be the only blemish in a solid month.

A 1-1 tie at Waterloo United followed with Canadian U20 star Jadea Collin scoring her first goal in black, white, and gold.

Wrapping up the month was a game against NDC Ontario that SFC won 2-0, with Castillo and Alyssa Stephenson netting in the second half. It was a statement win for Domingos' team, handing NDC just their second loss of the season.

Scheduled for July are three home games for SFC, followed by three away games to conclude the season. The first match at St. Francis Xavier ended in a loss to third-placed Guelph United, a result that the ladies will be looking to quickly forget with Vaughan Azzurri visiting this Wednesday and North Toronto on Sunday.

This week is the last chance to cheer for Scrosoppi’s OPL 1 women’s team at home this season, so come down to SFX and show your support!

OPL 3 Division

It has been a difficult June for Scrosoppi's B team in the Central Conference, who fell to defeat in all four matches. But there are still several games in July to turn around fortunes and finish the season on a high.
