Former Scrosoppi star shining in the Canadian Premier League
The CPL's latest Player of the Week, Tomasz Skublak, has been making headlines in the professional game.
After 45 goals in 51 matches for Scrosoppi across three Ontario Premier League seasons, Skublak returned to the professional game by putting pen-to-paper for Inter Toronto back in February.
The 28-year-old striker already has three goals to his name this campaign, and went viral after promoting his real estate business during a goal celebration against Atlético Ottawa. He was then named as the Maple Lodge Farms Player of the Week for Matchweek 5.
His first goal for his new club at the end of April also gained widespread attention, as his no-look header against Cavalry FC lit up the league and earned Inter Toronto a valuable point on the road.
In a feature published by the Ontario Premier League after the game, he said, "If you just keep your head down, keep putting the ball in the net for my position specifically, keep working, the opportunity will present itself, and you’ve just got to take advantage of it when it comes."
He's not the only player with Scrosoppi connections thriving outside of Milton; Skublak's former SFC teammate Tristan Marshall has made himself a regular starter for rival CPL side Pacific FC.
Furthermore, check out our recent article about Scrosoppi's players who are representing their nations at youth level. The list recently grew with the addition of Alyssa Stephenson, who has starred for Jamaica's U20 women's side.
With youth camps, high-performance training programs, elite coaching, and competitive Pro-Am teams, Scrosoppi is leading by example when it comes to providing a platform for those wanting to reach the top of their game.
