Shayne Griffin: “Volunteers are the heartbeat of Scrosoppi Football Club”

March 24, 2026

Become a club volunteer to help us grow soccer in Milton and across the Halton region.

Scrosoppi Football Club is recruiting volunteers to support the club’s operations, and there are several ways for the local community to get involved.

From growing SFC’s recreational programs to enhancing the competitive player pathway, or playing important roles in staging our Ontario Premier League matchdays, there’s lots of opportunity to develop new skills and have a meaningful impact in soccer.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, please email info@scrosoppi.ca to enquire about positions that are available in your field of interest.

Executive Director Shayne Griffin is excited to welcome new volunteers to Scrosoppi, and understands that the club wouldn’t be where it is today without them.

“Volunteers are the heartbeat of Scrosoppi Football Club,” he said. “They give their time, passion, and energy to create opportunities, build community, and inspire every player to grow both on and off the field.

“Our success isn’t just built on talent, but on the selfless people behind the scenes who make it all possible.

“From assisting with our Grassroots players to our Ontario Premier League matchday operations, volunteering with Scrosoppi FC offers more than just giving back. It’s a pathway for growth.”

Volunteering is a great way for soccer parents and fans to get closer to the game, while also developing key skills and experience that could become the foundations for a future career in sport.

“Volunteers can gain hands-on experience in coaching, leadership, event operations, and high-performance environments,” Griffin continued. “They can develop communication skills, learn how to manage and mentor young athletes, and build confidence in real-world settings.

“Whether you're just starting out or looking to advance in the game, the experience provides valuable insight into the full pathway of player development and club operations, opening doors for future opportunities in sport and beyond.”
